CRYBABY is a small short-haired figure with tears permanently streaming down its face — an art toy about giving sadness a face and the concept that feeling, and sharing, emotions is good. CRYBABY is designed to be neither male, female nor in fact human; their purpose is to embody the power of expressing emotion. The visual register is cute-melancholy: pastel palettes, soft plush bodies, eyes always wet. The line ranges from Crying Again to Crying for Love to SHINY SHINY. CRYBABY comes from the Thai artist Molly Yllom and has been with Pop Mart since 2021, growing fast on the strength of its emotional honesty: Shelfd tracks every series across figures, plush, MEGA pieces and accessories, including regional exclusives like the Thailand-only Sleepy Baby edition. The current Cry Me an Ocean wave spans figures, pendants and a family of accessories. The Care Bears collaboration has been CRYBABY's biggest crossover moment — vinyl plush pendants, lanyards, mini bags and more — pairing the teary face with the most comforting license imaginable, which is very on-brand. CRYBABY has also ventured into lifestyle collaborations with a recent SK-II skin care line. New CRYBABY series release through Pop Mart's stores and site, with listings also on AliExpress's official Pop Mart storefronts. Created in 2017 by Thai artist Molly Yllom — real name Nisa "Mod" Srikamdee, based in Bangkok. She worked as a graphic designer and event organiser before turning to toys after the death of her dog, Somchun. CRYBABY was conceived as permission to cry openly. In 2023 she became the first Thai artist to sign with Pop Mart, and CRYBABY is now widely cited as the brand's second-biggest IP after Labubu.
