The Monsters is a tribe of fanged forest spirits — Labubu, Zimomo, Tycoco, Spooky and Pato — first dreamt up for a 2015 picture book inspired by Nordic folklore. The look is ugly-cute: bunny ears, jagged grin, pastel fur. Mischievous, not malicious. The IP went global in April 2024 after BLACKPINK's Lisa was photographed with a Labubu bag charm, kicking off a worldwide craze. The complete THE MONSTERS series list, from 2019 to 2026 — all 115 series in release order, each with its date, figure count and a link to every figure and price. Shelfd keeps it current as new THE MONSTERS drops land.
Created by Kasing Lung (龙家升), a Hong Kong-born illustrator raised in the Netherlands and now based in Antwerp. Before toys he made children's books, becoming the first artist of Chinese heritage to win Belgium's national Illustration Award. His Monsters Trilogy began with The Story of Puca in 2015; the first Labubu figures were produced that year by How2Work, with Pop Mart taking over the licence in 2019.

Patisseries is one of the very earliest Monsters sets, from 2019 — before Pop Mart's blind boxes made Labubu a household name. It lays out a French dessert cart, reimagining the tribe as fine pastries — Éclair, Crème Brûlée, Mango Pie, Strawberry Cake, a Chocolate Fondant and Petite Palmiers — with a Hidden secret figure. Elegant and sweet, it's a refined ancestor of the later Candy set.

One of the earliest Pop Mart series for The Monsters, Kasing Lung's tribe of Nordic monster elves led by Labubu. Camping sends them outdoors across thirteen figures — Fishing, Hiking, Kayak, Chopping Wood, a Fire Pit and Trekking among them — with Skiing hidden as the secret. Simple and wholesome, it set the template for the theme-based dress-up sets that would eventually carry Labubu to global fame.
